True behavior change is identity change – you might start a habit because of motivation, but the only reason you will stick with one is that it becomes part of your identity.  Anyone can convince themselves to visit the gym once or twice every week, but if you don’t shift the belief behind the behavior, then it’s hard to stick with long-term changes.  Improvements are only temporary until they become part of who you are. Formulating a plan is key to developing a new habit!  If your goal for 2021 is exercising more, becoming healthier, stronger, more vibrant and vital then you have to MAKE A PLAN!  In a study of 248 people in Great Britain researchers found that 91% of the test group exercised at least once a week when they made a plan and scheduled their workouts in advance – more than double the normal rate!  Intention is the key – making a plan beforehand about what you want to do.  (Based on the book Atomic Habits – Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results).
