Listen to this advice from a Carmel physical therapist.

I often get questions about indoor cycling from those with arthritis or those recovering from an injury. According to Carmel Physical Therapist Amanda Kutoloski says indoor cycling is an excellent option for those who are looking for a cardio workout but are concerned with joint protection. Kutoloski says “If you have recently had a joint replacement and have completed your physical therapy and rehabilitation, indoor cycling is perfect because it is low impact. This means it is easier on your joints than activities such as jogging or aerobic classes. While indoor cycling you are strengthening the muscles around your knees and hips, including your quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings.”

Don’t let joint pain stop you from burning calories and improving your endurance. Low impact indoor cycling may be just the exercise for you.
